A Typical Charity Challenge
Bike Event
Bike challenges can vary from 4 - 11 days (UK
to UK). Typically, a 10 day event will include
5 - 6 days cycling and a rest or acclimatisation
day at either end of the itinerary. Rides are
graded from moderate - tough - very challenging.
On the majority of events bikes are provided
but you can also normally bring your own if
preferred (please note that some airlines will
charge you to bring them).
We cycle about 40-110km depending on the terrain
each day and nights are normally spent under
canvas. All bikes, camping equipment and meals
are provided.
Whilst on the bike ride your main luggage will
be carried in vehicles to the following night’s
campsite. All you need to carry is a daypack
with your personal items for the day - waterproofs,
water, snacks, camera, sun cream etc.
Depending on the event you choose, you will
be cycling with anything from 15 - 75 other
participants who will all have raised sponsorship
for the same charity. It's a great team atmosphere
and you're guaranteed to make some great new
friends.
An Ultimate tour leader and English-speaking
doctor, supported by local guides and back-up
staff, will escort you.
