Grand New Event!
01/04/2008
In October 2007, Lisa and Jennie joined the charity Hope’s Grand Canyon Trek and witnessed firsthand the truly awesome landscape that is the Grand Canyon. Now, these girls have been around the world a bit, but they were still blown away by this event.
The trek descends into the very heart of the canyon to the native American village of Supai. It’s the most remote village in the USA and the Havasupai tribe have lived here for over 800 years. This is a land of dazzling contrasts; a deep descent into a labyrinth of red sandstone, hidden waterfalls, scrambles over rock ledges and huge boulders, exhilarating jumps into deep turquoise plunge pools. The guides really know their stuff too, which means getting off the beaten track for a very special and unique canyon experience.
The only fitting finale for this event is to finish in Las Vegas of course, celebrating as only Vegas knows how!
This trip takes just nine days and we think it would be especially popular with those supporters who have completed such treks as China. The walking is moderate, the food is great and the Grand Canyon really is one of those must see before you die places!
