Peru: Best Operator in a Mountain Environment

We are delighted to congratulate our ground crew in Peru, who won the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Award for “Best Tour Operator in a Mountain Environment”, for developing home-stay accommodation with real volume, livelihood activities and kayaking, through a sustainable partnership with a group of thirty local families at Llachon, on the shore of Lake Titicaca.

Ultimate Challenges have been working with the same crew in Peru for nearly 10 years and have always been proud that together, they developed the first ever charity trek in Peru, off the beaten track and away from the crowds of the classic Inca trail, over spectacular Andes trails and into Machu Picchu.
