Machu Picchu Trek Open Challenge

Box Peru29 April to 9 May 2013

9 to 19 September 2013

Our route to Machu Picchu is unique. We trek on a traditional Inca Highway far from the crowds that trek on the traditional Inca Trail. The route is simply stunning and a fantastic opportunity to get emersed in the traditional life of the Andes.

Our trek starts in the heart of the Urubamba Valley as we follow in the footsteps of the Incas, passing snow-capped mountains, glacial peaks and camp overnight in the valleys of small villages, which have changed little over centuries and still use traditional farming methods. We end the trek passing through the ‘Sun Gate’ and into the lost city of Machu Picchu; Peru’s most famous Inca ruin, which had been abandoned to the forest for over 500 years until it was re-discovered in 1911 by an American historian named Hiram Bingham.

The feeling that wells up inside when you catch your first glimpse of Machu Picchu can not be described, it's something you will have to experience for yourself.
