Peru is frequently referred to as the ‘Land of the Incas’ and has some of the most spectacular and varied scenery in South America. The Peruvian Andes are arguably the most beautiful on the continent and the mountains are home to millions of highland Indians who still speak the ancient tongue of Quechua and maintain a traditional way of life.

This spectacular challenge takes us into the heart of Peru for a 4-day bike challenge and 1-day trek to the lost city of Machu Picchu, Peru’s most famous Inca legacy, which had been abandoned to the forest for over 500 years until it was re-discovered in 1911 by an American historian Hiram Bingham.

Our biking route takes us on unpaved, rarely used roads and off-road trails along the Urubamba Valley through some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

We wind our way along the original Inca trails, passing picturesque villages and Inca ruins. The last day of our Peruvian challenge is a tough trek along the traditional Inca Trail through forested jungle and past stunning ruins to our finish at Machu Picchu.
