Peru, Classic Inca Trail Charity Challenge

Peru is frequently referred to as the ‘Land of the Incas’ and has some of the most spectacular and varied scenery in South America. The Peruvian Andes are arguably the most beautiful on the continent and the mountains are home to millions of highland Indians who still speak the ancient tongue of Quechua and maintain a traditional way of life.

Beginning in the sacred Urumbumba Valley, the trek takes us through the footsteps of the Incas through cloud forest, along narrow ridges and vast ancient Inca sites in the shadow of snow-capped mountains and glacial peaks.

We end the trek at the lost city of Machu Picchu; Peru’s most famous Inca ruin, which had been abandoned to the forest for over 500 years until it was re-discovered in 1911 by an American historian Hiram Bingham.

Day 1: Fly London to Lima, via Madrid. Hotel
Day 2: Fly Lima to Cusco. Transfer to hotel. Free afternoon. Hotel
Day 3: Tansfer to Chillca. Trek Chillca to Q’ente. Camp
Day 4: Trek Q’ente - Llactapata – Q’ente. Camp
Day 5: Trek Q’ente – Huayllabamba - Llulluchapampa (3200m). Camp
Day 6: Trek Llulluchapampa - Warmiwanuska (4200m) -Sayacmarca (3500m) - Phuyupatamarca. Camp
Day 7: Trek Phuyupatamarca - Machu Picchu. Gala dinner. Hotel
Day 8: Free day to explore Machu Picchu. Transfer by train back to Cusco. Hotel
Day 9: Fly to London via Lima and Madrid
Day 10: Arrive London
