Iceland, 250Km Bike Charity Challenge

Iceland rests on the edge of the Arctic Circle and sits atop one of the world’s most volcanically active hotspots.

This spectacular 250km bike ride, takes us to the North-West of Iceland with impressive mountain scenery, undulating lower meadows and a striking mix of magisterial glaciers, bubbling hot springs, big deserts and rugged fjords.

The route is mostly on good 4x4 tracks in the Icelandic highlands, although the riding isn’t technical, it is undulating and can be stony and rough at times.

Day 1: Depart London for Reykjavík. Transfer by road to Akureyri. Guesthouse
Day 2: Bike 40km to Laugafell. Mountain Hut
Day 3: Bike 38km to Nýjidalur. Mountain Hut
Day 4: Bike 80km over southern half of Sprengisandur desert. Mountain Hut
Day 5: Bike 55km over volcanic lava fields, ash and mountain terrain. Mountain Hut
Day 6: Bike 35km black volcanic desserts. Transfer by road to Reykjevik. Gala dinner. Guesthouse
Day 7: Free morning with a chance to visit the Blue Lagoon and flight back to London
